On June 17, the Annual CFUW Presentation Awards were held via zoom. The Gender Based Violence Sub-Committee of the Status of Women and Human Rights Group received the award for advocating for Bill C-71, Gun Control. Margaret McGovern, accepting the award on behalf of the group, outlined all the work that has been and is being done by the sub-committee. Congratulations to the Gender Based Violence Sub-Committee headed by Jolie Athar with Margaret McGovern, Ann Henney-Castel, Jackie Street, Mary Ellen Hayes, Isabel Fonseca, and Shirin Hira.

The UWCNY along with the 5 other Toronto clubs received an Ontario Council 2019-2020 Recognition Award for their collaborative work on the Housing for All project, which advocates for affordable housing and healthy communities within Toronto. Congratulations to the members of the Housing Sub-Committee of the Status of Women and Human Rights headed by Ellen Baker with Diane Johns, Isabel Fonseca, Janet Gordon, Marian Archbold, Judith Ransom and Margaret McGovern.
