“If you want to do something for the world, early education is important,” said our October speaker. She made her case by pointing out that “Without a good start it’s hard to make up the deficits.” In her view pre-school education should start at age two. She cited a Conference Board of Canada study, released recently, that found there is a return on investment of six dollars for every dollar spent on early education.
After her talk, Margaret generously contributed her honorarium to UWCNY’s scholarship fund, which was much appreciated.
